THE TOWER OF BABEL

  IT is my opinion that Nimrod was the architect and builder of the of Babel and the founder of the kingdom of darkness. In Genesis 10:8-10 it states," And Cush begat Nimrod: he be­gan to began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: Wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord. And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar."  

  The word mighty as used in the Hebrew is Gibbor which means warrior or tyrant. The word one is iysh, a contraction for enosh which means mortal and blood thirsty. In Gen­esis 11:2, 4; "And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the cast, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and dwelt there . . . and they said, Go to, let us build us a city, and a tower, whose top may reach into heaven . . . You know the story, bow it was thrown down and the tongues confused. There­fore is the name of it called Babel."

Satan directed Nimrod in the operation of building the Tower of Babel, hoping to conquer the outer spheres. (Isa. 14:4,17, Ezek. 31:1-18) 1 would say that Satan possessed Nimrod com­pletely. Remember, the serpent had tried to create a race mixed with the Adamic blood through Cain. Cain, however, was cursed, marked and banished from off the face of the earth to outer darkness. (Gen. 4:14, 15) Satan, therefore, needed another race whose veins con­tained the Adamic blood and the spark of divine intelligence. He needed the intellectual to mix with the animal cunning of the natural race. Ham was the progenitor of the race who succeeded Cain. Ham even received the curse, "Cursed be Canaan . . ." It was through Ham that the Canaanites were perpet­uated. Cain was a shedder of blood and a murderer from the beginning. Nimrod was a hunter of men, a murderer from the beginning also. The Lord God told the children of Israel later on that these races of Ham were pricks in their eyes and thorns in their sides. (Num. 33:51, 56)   They were even forbidden to make marriage with this corrupted Adamic seed.

 All the mighty evil world powers stem from Nimrod's Kingdom. (Micah 5:4-8) The cities of wickedness, Nine­veh, Sodom and Gomorrah and Baby­lon were built by the Canaanites. Later on, after the captivity of 585 B. C., Jerusalem became the cage for the unclean birds, the children of wickedness who ruled the kingdom of darkness.

  The Tower of Babel was Satan's attempt through Nimrod, to capture the heavens. (Isa. 14:4-17) The plan was unsuccessful.    Yahveh's true seed line would never have attempted such a thing. At the time that Babel was built at Shinar, the Shemites were dwelling From Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar, a mount of the east. Their language was not confounded but remained pure until Judah's captivity in 585 B. C. The true Hebrew, the divine language (Acts 22:2), was corrupted. Only a few were able to speak the true Hebrew tongue. (Neh. 13:23-24)

  The Tower of Babel, which was over­thrown, became the site of a second Tower of Babel, which became known as the Temple of Belus, built by the Assyrians. When the children of Judah were carried captive into Babylon, they called it Birs-Nimrud or Nimrod's Tower. Traditions say that the remains of Nimrod were preserved for centuries and placed in the top of the seven tiered temple, worshipped by the Assyrians arid Icindred peoples as their deity. He was defied and called Bel, or Belus. The very name Babylon became a synonym for religious iniquity. Notice how the practice of defying the leaders is still carried on by the present 'Gentile gov­ernments' such as China, In­dia, etc.

  This Kingdom of Nimrod's was continued through the ages by Greece, Rome, France, and now China today. We are living in 'the present evil world' system, the system of the Gentile governments, the kingdom of darkness. (Romans 11:25, Rev. 11:1­2, Eph. 6:12) Remember that Satan claimed he was the possessor of the kingdoms of this world. (Matthew 4:8-9)

  Romans 1:21 to 32 gives an account of what happened to those great civilizations controlled by the forces of evil.

The next part of the message tells us how the destruction of the Tower took place. At the site of Birs, Nimrod, archaeologists found bricks turned into glass.

  This gives us a clue as to how the original Tower was destroyed.

  In Psalms 18-7,14, we have the picture of how the Tower was cast down. Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them, can be translated, Yea, he sent out his thunderbolts and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings and caused confusion among them. Read in Genesis 11:6-8, the account of what happened, and compare it with the 18th Psalm.
